Former Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colin Powell is an American politician, diplomat and retired four-star general who served as the 65th United States Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005. Powell was the first African-American Secretary of State.
General Colin Powell’s unique perspective towards the plight and treatment of the Harlem Hellfighters adds valuable commentary to the narrative and story of “Hellfighter”. In Colin’s own words – “A lot of African Americans went to that war. They did not get the recognition they deserved. It wasn’t just because somebody overlooked it, it was because they were black!”
